Neodymium-Iron-Boron Magnets
Sintered neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnet is the most widely used type of rare-earth magnet, which is made from an alloy of neodymium, iron, and boron. Developed in 1982 by General Motors and Sumitomo Special Metals, neodymium magnet is the most powerful commercialized permanent magnets available today, with maximum energy product ranging from 30 MGOe to 52 MGOe, very high remanence and coercivity. It has replaced the traditional magnet materials in the many applications in modern products, such as Electric motors, generators, hard disk drives, MRI, speakers, and etc.
Production Process
Magnetic properties
Neodymium magnets have higher remanence, much higher coercivity and energy product, but often lower Curie temperature than other types. Neodymium is alloyed with terbium and dysprosium in order to preserve its magnetic properties at high temperatures.

Dimensions
Because of the manufacture equipments constraint, there is a certain limit range of the dimensions and the mechanism accuracy of magnets.
Magnetization
Neodymium magnets can be magnetized in any direction as long as it is aligned properly. In some instances multiple pole magnetizations is not possible; when it is possible, special fixtures are required.
Temperature Characteristics
Low grade Neodymium magnet may lose strength if heated above 80°C. High grade Neo magnets have been developed to function at temperatures up to 220°C with little irreversible loss. The need for low temperature coefficient in neodymium magnet applications has triggered several grades to be developed to meet specific operating requirements.
Physical Properties
Surface Treatment
Sintered Neodymium magnets are sensitive to the environment and surface treatment is usually required. We provide various metallic and non-metallic coatings to prevent corrosion, which is the major cause of magnetic field failure.
